 Third Quarter 2007 Trestle Board

At our annual Widows Night in April we presented the Community Builder’s Award to Dixie Colvin.  What a wonderful evening.  Forty three members and guest were in attendance including ten widows.  Most Worshipful Adkins gave an excellent talk and the fellowship was priceless.  My thanks to all of you who assisted and attended.

At our May Stated Communication Waddell Lodge hosted the District Deputy Grand Master for a Fifty Year Veteran Award as a courtesy for the Grand Lodge of California.  Brother John Henry of Lake of the Woods, Virginia was received in the East and presented with his Certificate and Pin by Right Worshipful Fred Morgan.

What a great turn out for our June Dinner!  We had fourteen including several of our widows.  Brother Matthew sure can cook steaks.  Worshipful Greg Hosaflook brought some of his Civil War relics and gave a very informative talk. Several of our guests wished to attend so we held our program before the meeting.  We will do this anytime a guest wishes to attend the program.

Don’t forget to contact one mason who has not been to lodge in a while and invited them back.  Maybe all they need is someone to drive them.  Offer them a ride.  Pick them up and bring them to the lodge.  Let’s get our Masonic family TOGETHER.

We welcome Brother John Kirby Robinson to Waddell as our newest Master Mason.  We also have three Petitions out and expect to start some more work for these men shortly.  Come to the practices on Monday nights and learn something new.  Put your skills to work for Waddell and for our new masons.  Dust off a part of your ritual and let it shine for all of us.  Our new members need to meet you and get to know you.  Remember, we are all one big family and we have reunions every month.

My Brethren; in my last letter. I asked for help in decorating from your ladies.  I have since received some ideas.  Our first task is already underway with the additions of several new lights.  A few more to install and this step will be complete.  The next job will be replacing the floor in the kitchen.

I continue to thank Garnett and Ron for the grass cutting and trimming they do every summer.  Our Lodge really looks nice.  If you have not yet seen our new signs you are remiss and need to drive by and take a look.  Again, a BIG thank you goes to Buddy and Jimmy for the installation.

Finally Brethren, do not forget the Reid James Simmons Academy being conducted at Fork Union 29 July thru 2 August.  This is a great opportunity to get a certificate, learn something new, re-learn something you need to brush up on, or take some Masonic Education Courses.

Fraternally,

Edgar M. Crebbs
Worshipful Master
